- Transformer Selection: When selecting a 12V-24V transformer, make sure its output wattage is at least 120% higher than the total wattage required by all connected devices, which means 2.2 times the total load wattage. For instance, if you're connecting eight 3-watt LED lights, you need a transformer with an output wattage of at least 52.8 watts (8 x 3 x 2.2 = 52.8 watts).
